With today's electronic advancements its more important than ever to maintain batteries. PC (printed circuit) boards and control units now join the group of alternators and starters that can be affected.

Chassis "Start" Batteries.
These are the ones that start the vehicle's engine and need to be be a high amp low hour battery. The high amp or (push) reduces the amps needed to start the engine and thus reduces brush wear on starters. Most "chassis batteries" are maintenance free these days but keeping them washed and the terminals clean is still very important.
Coach "House" Batteries
These batteries control just about everything in the house part of your RV. What is important to note though is that even appliances that are powered by shore power, generator power, or propane sometimes have 12 volt controls and the batteries and fuses need checked first when those units become inoperable. Coach batteries are usually a long amp hour battery with a lower crank amp rating as needed for dry camping.
GEL RV BATTERIES
This type of battery gives the discriminating RV owner and system designer the widest choice battery capability while providing very little maintenance expense. They offer many significant advantages over conventional liquid acid batteries because there is no liquid electrolyte to leak or spill out of the battery. Gell celled batteries can be easily installed in hard-to-reach locations without the worry of access for maintenance because it has gelled electrolyte which recharges quickly. Since there is no liquid, there is no need to check electrolyte levels.
ABSORBED GLASS MATT (AGM)
AGM's are specially designed for heavy-duty engine starting and the many accessory loads typical of RV's, trucks, busses, farm equipment or other large, demanding applications. Its leakproof design enables many installation options, while providing added power, protection and reliable service for expensive equipment.
